Our family history
Our family’s journey to becoming dog breeders began back in the 1940s, when my grandfather started breeding Smooth Fox Terriers. As he was a keen hunter, he trained his dogs to burrow, for which he used a tame fox and badger. My dad continued in the family tradition and during the socialist era he bred Dobermans and Schnauzers. After the fall of communism, he and my mother started breeding Shelties, Poodles and French Bulldogs. They founded a company to export puppies in response to the huge amount of interest from Western Europe.
My own journey
My work with dogs began back when I was a child, when I used to walk the dogs and play with them. I took over my mother’s breeding business in 2018 and added Dachshunds and Cocker Spaniels – my favourite breeds. In 2021 I decided that I didn’t want to be limited to the market in the Czech Republic and exporting puppies to pet shops abroad, but yearned to offer my more than 30-year experience in breeding and supplying animals around the world to owners who care about where and from what parents their animals come from.
Our breeding
We specialise in breeding Shetland Sheepdogs, merle and piebald miniature Dachshunds, golden and chocolate Cocker Spaniels and apricot and chocolate miniature Poodles. We draw on years of experience combined with state-of-the-art equipment when breeding our dogs.
What are we feeding the dogs?
The basis of the healthy diet for our adult dogs is Brit Care granules, to which we add meat with fibre from Vetamix. We further supplement the feed as needed with vitamins, salmon oil and Kelp seaweed. After the puppies have been weaned from their mother’s milk, we feed them Royal Canin Starter granules and later Brit Care granules.
Our technical and breeding background
Our breeding facility is equipped with a CCTV system, so we can keep an eye on our dogs 24 hours a day. The building is fitted with air purifiers and germicidal cleaners that use UV-C light. All the surfaces can be disinfected. For a long time now we have been working with a veterinarian, who visits the dogs 5 times a week. We have an ultrasonograph, which is used to check pregnancies in bitches and reveal any possible risks, as well as grooming equipment and an ultrasound system for cleaning the dogs’ teeth. All dogs in the kennel are examined for birth defects, including all new-born puppies before they leave to join their new owners.
